Lights Signs to Fueled By Ramen, Releases New Song “Lost Girls”
Canadian singer-songwriter Valerie Anne Poxleitner, aka Lights signed to Fueled by Ramen and announced her upcoming unplugged album “Skin&Earth Acoustic” will be released on July 12, 2019.
The original version of the album “Skin&Earth” was released in 2017, including 14-track via her previous label Warner Bros. Records.
On May 14, she released a new song “Lost Girls” with accompanying music video directed by Beau Bokan from the album.
"It’s pretty wild to be on a new label since the last one I was pretty much with since the beginning," she says of the new deal with Fueled by Ramen. "Glad I found my new proverbial mate, though. Time changes us so much, so it’s only fitting to be opening a welcomed new chapter surrounded by friend's bands and bands I have loved and watched for years. Before signing, I’d hit up my friends on the label to see how they liked it. It was literally like dating."- She wrote about the song on Facebook, "To every girl told she wasn’t enough. Or she was too much. That she was too proud, or too insecure. Too square, too slutty. Too butch or too pussy. Too “maybe stop eating”, too “eAt a BuRgEr”. Too ugly, too made up. To every woman who spent her life thinking she was lost. Now here we sit, on top a of a mad world, a lil bruised from years of being told we couldn’t get it right, now here we sit, behind the wheel of the vehicle that used to drive by screaming all these things we should be, now here we sit, finally proud that we were lost girls all along."
