- Julia Ryan Announces Next Single “Slow It Down”
- Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Julia Ryan announced the release of a next single “Slow It Down”, set to drop August 31st via streaming music services.
The song will appear on her forthcoming debut EP (yet-untitled), which will be released later this year.
Last month, Billboard exclusive premiered her debut song "To the Top" from the EP.
Originally, the new song was called "What You Want (Slow It Down)", posted to SoundCloud in 2016. Also she performed the song at USC Popular Music Senior showcase in March 2017.
This time, she re-recorded the song as the new version “Slow It Down”.
The track is a slow ballad with R&B, her soulful vocals will strike a chord with you as previous single.
Julia Ryan said of the song in a statement;
"I wrote this song about manifesting self-love before giving a piece of that love to someone important. This song is about somebody who wants so badly to fall in love and who desperately seeks a significant other to give their love to, that they forget about giving themself some love. I strongly believe self-love is so important no matter who you are, what you do, and whom you choose to pass your love along to. You can only give your full heart to someone when you know your own inner love. Self-love isn’t a huge ego, vanity or arrogance. It’s an inner peace that comes from being okay with who you are no matter your mistakes and forgiving yourself. So to everyone out there looking to fall in love, slow it down because you must create your own love from within before you can pass it on to someone special."
- “Slow It Down” original version:
- Julia Ryan started to write songs when she was a student at USC's Thornton School of Music.
Her music is influenced from classic soul music like Etta James, Aretha Franklin and Billie Holiday, but she creates her new music style with addition beautiful and dynamic melodies and driving rhythms.
