Coheed and Cambria Premieres New Music Video for “Unheavenly Creatures”
American progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria unveiled a new song “Unheavenly Creatures” with an accompanying music video for the first time in three years. The video was directed by P.R. Brown, who created Sci-Fi visual.
The song will appear on their forthcoming ninth studio album "Vaxis – Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures", which is set to be released on October 5, 2018.
The album (limited-edition deluxe box) is included an exclusive, 80-plus-page, hardcover illustrated sci-fi novel, written by the band frontman Claudio Sanchez and his wife Chandra Echert.
Claudio Sanchez said of his influences;
“Science fiction seems to be the platform that I gravitate towards most – transforming my life and experiences into something a little more grandiose. I’m definitely influenced by a lot of pre-existing stories. If you come into my office, it’s just movie posters, action figures and Star Wars toys.
As I’m conceptualising things, I turn and I see one of the posters and something about that movie reminds me of something that I can transform and make work in my story.”- Coheed and Cambria was formed in 1995, consisting of Claudio Sanchez (lead vocals, guitars, keyboards), Travis Stever (guitars, backing vocals), Josh Eppard (drums, keyboards, backing vocals), and Zach Cooper (bass, backing vocals).
Most of the band's albums are part of a sci-fi saga called The Amory Wars. They have been released out of sequence in relation to the story arc. The band has released 7 albums, so far.
Coheed and Cambria will launch a co-headlining summer tour with Taking Back Sunday on July 6th in Miami, Florida. Afterwards, the band will head out on a UK tour in October.
