Jessie J Premieres New Music Video for “Queen” Acoustic
London-based singer-songwriter Jessie J has released a new music video for “Queen” acoustic version, directed by Allie Snow. Originally, the song was released last November from her upcoming fourth studio album "R.O.S.E.", following “Think About That” and “Not My Ex”. It was written by Jessie J and DJ Camper.
This time, she sang the song with only piano, it seems like cool jazz song. The song is a body empowering anthem for ladies all around the world.
About the song, she said;
"Women in the industry are sexualised and are definitely treated in a certain way because of what they and their bodies look like. It’s [the S. part of R.O.S.E] also about that.
I was so angry but passionate that day in the studio recording “Queen”. I was so fed up of seeing negative comments and these forever changing rules for women on what is set as beautiful and ugly. There is no such thing, we are all QUEENS. I wanted to write a song that represented all women. I know there will be women that would have never said these words out loud to themselves before. “I love my body, I love my skin, I am a goddess, I am a Queen”. That alone is so powerful. Whilst focusing on lifting up myself, it never left my mind the importance to uplift all women at the same time. So important to me."-
