Swedish singer-songwriter Agnes Carlsson, aka Agnes released her fifth studio album “Magic Still Exists” on October 22, 2021 via Universal Music Sweden.
It is her first album in nine years since the 2012 album “Veritas”.
The album comprises 11-track, including preceding singles “Here Comes The Night” and “24 Hours”.
Produced by Vargas & Lagola. Written by Agnes Carlsson, Salem Al Fakir, Vincent Pontare, Hannah Wilson, Maria Hazell, Tobias Lützenkirchen and Kerstin Ljungström.
Agnes said of the album, “'Magic Still Exists' is a collection of epiphanies about what it means to be human and our need to constantly search for something bigger, something more. The album was made together with friends and the process has therefore been very intimate. Something that made me relax, let go and have fun with it”.- The album is a spiritual full body of work from Agnes, who has created her own captivating modern genre called “spiritual disco.”
She said, "Humans have always searched for freedom. We are all spirits: floating around in the universe, trying to find a purpose. Let us open up for creativity & spirituality. Intuition, Faith, Love, Spirit, Heart All of the elements for letting go, being free, how does it sound? The sound of letting you be whoever you wanna be? I've searched through space and time, and I've finally found it…I call it: Spiritual Disco!”
She continued, “Mixing spiritual lyrics with disco felt both tempting and necessary. Disco is freedom, to express oneself and not be ashamed. But the music was also something I needed to do to grow spiritually and strengthen myself. It was an opportunity to take what I have within me, multiply it and just play with it.” -
