Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Years & Years Premieres New Song “Starstruck” on BBC Radio 1
British singer-songwriter Olly Alexander's solo project, Years & Years premiered a new song “Starstruck” on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast with Greg James.
The song is the first single off of his upcoming third studio album of the same name.
Also, it is the first track since announcing Years & Years' splitting up. Other members, Mikey Goldsworthy will play live with the band, and Emre Türkmen will focus on his work as a writer and producer.
Olly Alexander said of the song, “Since we've all had to stop, all I've wanted to do is go out and dance. So I've been putting all that pent up energy into the music. “Starstruck” is about the rush you get when you're with somebody you're really into, it's about holding onto a good feeling and not letting it go. Like most of us I've spent the past year at home, and I wanted to create something super positive and fun for people (and myself) to bop along too. Whatever we're doing or wherever we are in life, I think we all deserve three minutes of interstellar ecstasy.”
He has already filmed the music video for the song, which will be premiered on April 12, 2021.- YGfaYTIYh40
