  • Jackson Wooten Releases Debut Album “A New Child”: Streaming

  • Nashville-based singer-songwriter Jackson Wooten released his debut album “A New Child” on February 26, 2021, along with a music video for the album title track.

The album contains 8-track, including preceding singles “FLOWER”, “Don't Let Me Down” and “October Song”. Produced by Jason Bennett.
Jackson Wooten said of the album, “My album, 'A New Child' tells my story of seemingly futile pain and the love that saved me from it. I hope people are able to connect with the songs and find solace in them – whether that's relating to my lyrics or simply enjoying the melodies on a rainy morning.”
He started writing the album in 2019. He and Jason Bennett took a trip to Los Angeles writing songs. Hen shared on social media with some photos, “This is where I started writing my album. I always get inspiration from places and the people I meet when I travel. Something about getting out of your comfort place and disrupting your daily habits gets the brain moving in new ways. This was 2019.” Then, he traveled to Ice Land with his best friend. He had most of the album written there by the end of 2019.
He recorded the album with remote due to COVID-19. He told Atwood Magazine, “Recording through COVID was definitely difficult. We weren't always able to meet in person. Remote recordings weren't always the most productive. There were countless setbacks. I hope that all of our struggle and effort shows on the record. We dug into every crevice of the album to make something special.”
  • He shared, “These folks made the album truly special. They brought my little light bulb of an idea to shining life. These songs are vulnerable and emotional and I was amazed at how much everyone connected to them from the very beginning. @jsnbnntt @blakeburchette @austinstanleymusic @torriweidinger @sarahruthviolin @thehunterwest @zachesposito @bitterbea @brickstreet_recording @laurennpreuss @_dulaney YOU made this album special. Thank you so much for being all-in on this music. Thank you for making it personal. Thank you for pouring your hearts out. Thank you for being a part of this long journey.
