Home Counties Releases New Song “Modern Yuppies”
British post-punk band Home Counties released a new song “Modern Yuppies”, the first of two self-produced singles to be released via Alcopop! Records.
The song follows up their debut EP “Redevelopment”, which was released last September.
Home Counties shard on social media, “Last Autumn the pandemic left us unable to reunite with Theo Verney Production to record our second EP so instead, we bought a second-hand analogue synth and a drum machine off eBay. Inept at these technologies, we created something that sounds like a 70's-cop-drama soundtrack, stacked full of pure cheese.
'Modern Yuppies' is the first of two self-produced tracks we'll be putting out on Alcopop! Records to welcome in 2021, a glorious new era.”
“The song is a comparison between the young urban professionals of the 1980s to those of today,” the band member Will Harrison added. “It discusses the differences, the way that arrogance and conservatism have made way for self-doubt and socially 'liberal' political positions. Ultimately however, they are both plagued by the same condition - of constantly needing more.”- source : SoundCloud
