RaeLynn Shares New Music Video for “Me About Me”
- Back in August, American country music singer-songwriter RaeLynn released her second EP “Baytown” via Round Here Records.
It is her first project since her 2017 debut album “WildHorse”. The EP comprises of 6-track, all of which she co-wrote, for her Texas hometown.
From the EP, she has shared a new music video for “Me About Me” directed by Running Bear Films.
RaeLynn said of the video in an interview with Taste Of Country, “I knew I wanted it to be kind of a timepiece, kind of a throwback," she explains. "And the actors really portray what this song is about, which is being in a one-sided relationship with somebody who's just kind of selfish, and doesn't really care about the little things that make you who you are. It's heartbreaking, but it's beautiful at the end, because she comes full-circle and realizes, 'I'm not gonna change for anybody.'”
- The track was written by Jeff Garrison, Bob DiPiero and RaeLynn.
She told the Boot about the song, “This song actually came from a conversation I was having with my best friend. She was talking about a guy she was talking to, and she's was like, "God, he's just so self-absorbed," and then we were talking about exes, and she was like, "Whatever happened with that relationship?" -- we were talking about a past relationship -- and I said, "You know what? Well, he just never asked me about me, and everything was on his terms, and it just didn't work out.”
She continued, “And I got to thinking about that, and I was like, wow. I know that I've been through this, my best friend's been through this, and I started asking other friends about it ... and it was definitely a subject that needed to be talked about. When I did write it, I thought I did it a little too personal.”
