Tribe Friday New EP “Waiting For A Sign”: Streaming
- Swedish alt-rock band Tribe Friday released their third EP “Waiting For A Sign” on October 23, 2020.
The new EP contains 5-track and was recorded during the same sessions of their sophomore EP “Chasing Pictures”, which was released back in March.
Also, the band released limited edition yellow 12” vinyl, including two EPs.
Frontman Noah Deutschmann explained about the EP, “We've been a lot more daring with what we put on tape. I produce and engineer all of our records, so as I'm picking up new skills and tricks it frees us up to fully explore our sound without self-imposed limitations or genre borders. I mean, of course it's all rock music, because that's what we vibe with, but it's a pretty mixed palette nevertheless.” He continues by discussing the lyrics, which tend to lead into more melancholy territory than previous releases, “all the tracks certainly have a bit of a darker feel compared to the Trying Your Luck EP. There's a lot of self-detriment and stuff going on in there. It's been a rough year, man.”
The tracks tend to be more expansive and hyperactive. “Loosie” is the most developed composition on the album; the first track to depart from their usually spontaneous songwriting session to be carefully written and arranged over multiple sessions. “Sleepwalk” is dizzying in its three-minute journey through multiple genres; from garage rock, to arena-filling wailing guitars, to sunny pop.
