Boston-based British-Australian Jazz and R&B singer-songwriter Ella-Jane Sharpe premiered her debut song "YOU." on July 3, 2020.
She teased the song on her Instagram back in May. The track features Jazz and '80s R&B pop vibe sound with her sleek vocals.
“This song is portrays the yearning of coming back home to the one you love, after spending some time apart,” Ella-Jane Sharpe explained about the song. "It tells the story of how relationships begin and the initial stages of falling in love, some of which are scary. These themes are represented through the lyrics, portraying a sense of judgement, occasional worry and confidence in the relationship itself, and the production, depicting a surreal dreamlike musical world that the story takes place in.”
Ella-Jane Sharpe has studied music at Berklee College of Music in Boston. She bases her art on a deep love and appreciation for traditional jazz artists and a passion for modern-day Neo-Soul and R&B.
