American singer-songwriter Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent has announced that her seventh studio album “All Born Screaming” on April 26, 2024 via Virgin Music Group.
The album is her first body of work in three yeas since the 2021 album Daddy's Home and comprises a 10-track, featuring a guest appearance from Cate Le Bon.
This time, Annie Clark produced the album by herself. The record features contributions from several artists, including Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters, Cate Le Bon, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Josh Freese, Stella Mozgawa, Rachel Eckroth, Mark Guiliana, and David Ralicke of Dengue Fever.
“There are some places, emotionally, that you can only get to by taking the long walk into the woods alone—to find out what your heart is really saying,” Annie Clark said of the albumin a statement. “It sounds real because it is real.”- From the album, she unveiled the first single called “Broken Man” on February 29, 2024.
The track was written and produced by St. Vincent. Dave Grohl played drums on the track.
The accompanying music video was directed by Alex Da Corte.
Annie Clark told NME about the video, “The video is the album cover come to life. It’s an exploration of brokenness, shot in a black void – a violent dance with the camera. It’s a finding and then an acceptance of being absolutely on fire.” - source : Apple Music
