Los Angeles-based Israeli singer-songwriter Mergui returned with a new song called “Cry” on February 15, 2024.
The song is his first music in two years since the 2022 EP “Dark Side of the Rainbow”.
The song features an interpolation of British singer-songwriter Elton John's “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”.
The track was written by Jonathan Mergui, Dor Daniel, Brandyn Burnette, Bernard J.P. Taupin, and Elton John. Produced by produced by Mergui, Jonathan Linav, Dor Daniel, Itay Haruvi, and Haim Saban.
Mergui said of the song, “There have been many times in my life when people have put up walls in our relationships, preventing them from receiving real love from me. Being that safe space for somebody is the biggest gift. 'Cry' is a reflection of these experiences — the journey of breaking down walls and embracing vulnerability.
