JP Saxe Announces New Album “A Grey Area”, Shares New Song “Caught Up On You”
Canadian singer-songwriter JP Saxe has announced his sophomore album “A Grey Area” will be released on September 22, 2023 via Arista Records/Sony Music Entertainment.
It is his first body of work in two years since the 2021 debut album “Dangerous Levels of Introspection”.
The album comprises 13-track, featuring guest appearances from John Mayer, Lizza McAlpine, Tiny Habits and Camilo.
From the album, he released the sixth single called “Caught Up On You” on August 11, 2023.
The track was written by JP Saxe, Ryan Marrone, Adam Hanson, James Ho, TJ Whitelaw, and Will Wells. Produced by Ryan Marrone and Malay.
The accompanying music video was directed by Matthew Takes.
“I completely turned off my filter and wrote nine of the weirdest verses I’ve ever written and picked my favorite four,” JP Saxe said of the song. “It was a way to clear the pipes creatively, but I ended up being obsessed with the song. It was genuinely fun. It’s still my favorite song on the record. When you’re used to talking about heavy and emotional shit and you write a song about kinks and communism, it’s a nice little break.”- He shared on social media, “I love this song so much and I made it with people I love so much and if that isn’t the point.... 'caught up on you' a break from the heartache, a song about letting joy be bigger than what you can understand, and kinks, and communism....”
