Julie Bergan Releases New Song “Waste A Tear”
Norwegian singer-songwriter Julie Bergan released a new song “Waste A Tear” along with a performance music video on May 26, 2023.
The song is the second single under her own label Karate Records after leaving Warner Music Norway, following “Diamonds” released back in March.
The track was written by Julie Bergan, Linnea Södahl, Anton Hård af Segerstad, Raymond Anthony Ebanks, and Jaakko Sakari Salovaara. Produced by Anton Hard.
Julie Bergan said of the song, “'Waste A Tear' was the start of a new era for me. It was written the day I decided to put an end to what had been and move on. The inspiration behind it was how I felt at the time, which was one of my most difficult but also most educational periods in my life! The song therefore became a kind of liberation for me.”
She continued, “'Waste A Tear' is for me a song to celebrate oneself and be proud of. Maybe you were able to quit the job you hated or finally leave the relationship that wasn't good for you? I hope people will put on 'Waste A Tear' when they want to celebrate their own choice and life. At least that's what I do!”- She shared on social media, “In my life I’ve cried too many tears for people who don’t deserve them. People who haven’t valued me for who I am as a person, artist or woman. I’m over it. I’m not gonna waste my tears again. Let's fucking dance to that at midnight 💃🏼❤️”
