Sam Cullen Releases New Song “Forever”
New Zealand singer-songwriter Sam Cullen released a new song “Forever” on May 19, 2023.
The song is his first music since the EP “Run”, which was released last March.
On the track, he worked with producer Ben Malone and songwriter Harry Parsons.
He has already filmed the music video for the song, which will be premiered on May 31, 2023.
The song is inspired by “Dancing in the Dark” by Bruce Springsteen and came to life during the first session Sam had ever done with Ben Malone and Harry Parsons.
“It's too fun for its own good!” Sam Cullen said of the song. “There's a huge chunk of nostalgia in this one, with it's organic feel and raucous backing vocals. It's meant to be played as loud as possible, and screamed at the top of our lungs.”- He continued, “We were lucky that it kind of just fell out from the main riff that I'd been playing around with on guitar the day prior. The whole song was written in an hour and really came to life once Ben and I got in the live room at Parachute Studios and recorded a heap of live instruments.”
He added, “I'd never played live with a band, always just a one-man-band setup. I adore the production that Ben has crafted for this track. The guitar sounds and backing vocals are right up my alley, and the up tempo energy gives it that driving sound I love.” -
