venbee Premieres New Song “gutter” on BBC Radio 1
Kent-based singer-songwriter Erin Doyle, aka venbee premiered a new song “gutter” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo on March 16, 2023.
The song follows up “messy in heaven”, which was released last September.
The track was written by Erin Doyle, WhyJay, and LiTek. Produced by WhyJay and LiTek.
“I was really scared about dropping that song. I thought it would flop and like soon as it came out. It was took like, a couple of weeks and then it took off,” Erin Doyle told Clara Amfo about the song. “However, people take it so for like, from my perspective, it's about people. The greatest people can fall down a difficult path. And that's what the song is but people take it in their own perspective and it did have controversy behind it. But it was a journey. It was a ride and and I'm absolutely so grateful that they went down, well.”
- She continued, “It's literally a timeline of my life. And it's to the point of like, I don't know how I'm still here, but I'm still here and I'm thriving and I'm feeling good. And I think for me like being honest in my songs is like the best therapy for me. But what I did relapse when I was 17 and that was difficult and it was just a pure an emotional attachment detachment with me and when I'm ready to, to speak about it. I think I will. But it's a topic that you got to tread carefully with.”
