American pop rock band X Ambassadors' Sam Nelson has dropped a new music video for “forever, now”.
The song is his solo debut single, which was released on February 1, 2023.
The track was written by Sam Nelson, Henry Was and Mary Weitz. Produced by X Ambassadors.
The video was directed by Stefanie Abel Horowitz, starring Sam Nelson and Kate Fisher.
Sam Nelson said of the song, “This is the first song off of my upcoming solo project, which I cannot wait to share with all of you, and the first release of a big year of new music from myself and the band. It was produced by my dear friend Henry Was and co-written by the incredible Mary Weitz. 'forever, now' is a love song. It's a song about how terrifying that moment is before you fall. Afraid to let go, afraid to be hurt or get hurt. About finding the courage to— not only love someone else— but to love yourself. It represents this whole project for me and my process of learning to love myself a little more.”- He continued, “Played it on stage in Brisbane last night for the first time and it felt magical. The morning I walked into Henry Was's studio with Mary Weitz I said to them that I felt like my project was missing something— I had all these cathartic, heartbroken songs about the painful parts of love, but none that fully captured the beauty (and terror) of falling IN love. I told them I wanted to write something that people could have their first dance to at their weddings. And I think that's exactly what we did here. Every time I sing this song it feels like falling in love again.”
