  • Ian Arden Releases New Song “Nadia”

  • Toronto-based singer-songwriter Ian Arden has released a new song “Nadia” along with a music video.

The song will appear on his upcoming debut EP “Songs for Rebecca”, which is set to be released on January 20, 2023.
The track was written by Ian Arden and produced by Justin McHugh.
“My new song, 'Nadia,' was written in one emotional and traumatic night,” Ian Arden said of the song. “It's a compassionate and concerned plea to someone close to me who had been suffering for way too long.”
He continued, “If you've been having a hard time, I want you to be able to find your inner strength. I want listeners to remember that there truly is a light at the end of the tunnel.”
  • The accompanying video was directed by David Redman, starring Nicole Farrugia. Produced by Alex Rozanec.
He said of the video, “The music video for 'Nadia' depicts a beautiful, innocent young maiden. As I am the 'Toronto troubadour,' she represents the muse that has guided me throughout my life.”
He added, “The video features footage of a speech by former US president, Franklin D. Roosevelt, which was meant to console America and the world during the Great Depression. In many ways, we are collectively going through a psychic 'great depression.' I hope that FDR's words will have the same consoling effect now as they did back in the 1930s.”

  • The EP “Songs for Rebecca” comprises 4-track. “As strange as this may sound, it was Paul Simon's spirit that guided these songs,” Ian Arden shared on social media. “Whenever I had a studio date booked, no matter how stressful things got (and boy did they get stressful), I found myself consoled by his calm demeanor. In "The Only Living Boy In New York," Paul encourages his childhood best friend and musical partner Art Garfunkel in his upcoming film shoot in Mexico. It would be the first time the two were to be parted since the beginning of their crazy Simon & Garfunkel rocket ride began. For some reason, I always felt like Paul somehow blessed this project. Maybe I'll get a chance to tell him in person one day.”
