  • Madison Beer Premieres New Song “Showed Me (How I Fell In Love With You)” on BBC Radio 1

  • American singer-songwriter Madison Beer premiered a new song “Showed Me (How I Fell In Love With You)” on BBC Radio 1's Future Pop with Mollie King.

The song is the follow-up to “Dangerous”, which was released back in August.
The track was written by Madison Beer, Big Taste, Gene Clark, Jim McGuinn, Kinetics and One Love. Produced by Madison Beer, Big Taste and One Love.
This time, on the track, she first ever sampled American rock band The Turtles' “You Showed Me”, which was released in 1968.
And she featured jazz and soul element for her new song.
“Writing and making the video for 'Showed Me' was a really unique experience,” Madison Bee explained. “This song samples The Turtles 'You Showed Me.' I've never used sampling or interpolation on a song before, but I'm always looking for new ways to experiment in the studio and pay homage to the classic sounds and melodies I loved growing up. This song is the perfect culmination of those things.”
  • Madison Beer told Mollie King about what inspired the change of direction for the new song, “I think that I I've always loved music like this and the sound this is leaning into as the music that I actually listen to the most so I think just know now as I'm getting a bit older, I feel like I am leaning more into the things that I authentically really like and listen to and they feel good to also be a part of creating. So it just it just happened naturally. And I think that there's also so many types of music and types of genres that I love, so 'why not?', do them all.”
She continued, “I think that it definitely used to feel like a daunting question because I like I said, I love so many different types of music. So it's hard for me to just nail down and pick like okay, this is all I'm ever gonna do. But I think that I am having fun just like experimenting with each different single or the album's and stuff and leaning into different kinds of tones and sounds it's it's just fun. I think that music is so diverse and there's not just one fee for anything so it's fun more than anything.”
The accompanying music video was directed by Lauren Dunn. Madison Beer said of the music video, “That's like a lot of the fun of all of this for me. I'm a very visual person I always have been and I I would love to go on to like, be in film one day or direct in that capacity. And I just, it's so fun to bring a song to life with a video I think it's like the best part of the whole thing. So yeah, I'm very into it, for sure.”
