British singer-songwriter Tom Odell announced fifth studio album “Best Day Of My Life” would be released on October 28, 2022 via UROK/Mtheory.
It is his first project as an independent artist. He left Columbia Records in 2021.
Tom Odell said, “I feel so free, so liberated to be an independent artist. There's a huge amount of relief in this music, of just getting to do exactly what I want to do”
The album comprises 12-track, produced by Laurie Blundell and Tom Odell.
He said of the album, “One year ago, almost exactly to the day, I set myself the challenge to write and record an entire album using only my voice and my piano with absolutely nothing else. I found myself digging deeper than I ever have before both with my words and piano playing. I am so proud of the way this record has turned out and I really cannot wait for you all to hear it.”
From the album, he unveiled a new song “Smiling All The Way Back Home” on September 9, 2022.
The song is the fourth single off of the album and the 12th track. It was written by Tom Odell, Laurie Blundell and Rick Nowels.
He said, “I went through a really hard couple of years where I really lost my stability, and in a way the album is a journey towards letting go. When I get to that last song, I really feel that journey of arriving somewhere better than you were before.”- up-YZ_jGSOY
