Los Angeles-based Welsh singer-songwriter Jamie Miller released his debut EP “Broken Memories” along with a new music video for “It Is What It Is”.
The EP comprises 6-track, produced by Bendik Møller, Louis Schoorl, Cal Shapiro, Rob Grimaldi and Steve Solomon.
“My EP is a story of going through hardships and beautiful moments and things I never would've expected,” Jamie Miller said of the EP. “I want my songs to be an honest conversation with my fans, where I'm sharing all these different things I've learned about myself over these past few years.”
The accompanying music video was directed by Joe Desantis. The song was written by Jamie Miller, Louis Schoorl and Cal Shapiro. Produced by Louis Schoorl and Cal Shapiro.- Jamie Miller explained of some tracks for the EP.
“Last Call”
“I wrote 'Last Call' at a time when I was so happy and in love and wanting to capture the feeling of being someone's last call and first call. I wanted it to feel nostalgic, with the thrill of both wanting someone and being wanted back by that same person.”
“Here's Your Perfect”
“I was cheated on in a previous relationship and got my heart broken for the first time. I wrote in an aspect of, 'It's going to be OK.' No one should try to change you to be anything other than your true self, because that's enough. I love if I'm feeling down, or happy, or any kind of emotion, I get to write about it. I feel like the best thing about being an artist is you can write through your feelings.”
“I Lost Myself In Loving You”
“'I lost myself in loving you' is my most personal song to date. Falling in love is amazing right? We've all been there. Getting your heart broken? The worst pain imaginable in 2020/2021 I got my heart broken and lost myself so much I can't even explain .. if you know me I'm the most happiest go lucky guy in the world but these past few months I've been so sad, down and became a version of myself I hated .. I wrote this song I lost myself in loving you because that exact situation and writing it was the most insane experience of my life. I put my heart on paper and came up with this song.”
“It Is What It Is”
“'It Is What It Is' is what I tell myself anytime something doesn't go my way. It means that whatever happens, you can get through it and move on. It was important to me to include that song on the EP and let my fans know that even when things are dark, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel.” - source : Apple Music
