Dixie Chicks Drops New Song “Julianna Calm Down”
American country music band Dixie Chicks was supposed to release their first album “Gaslighter” in 14 years on May 1st. But, the album has been postponed due to the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic.
Instead of the release of the album, the band dropped a new song “Julianna Calm Down”. The track was written by Natalie Maines, Julia Michaels and Jack Antonoff, who also co-produced.
“We hope it makes you feel empowered, smile, and strut the f*** around like you’ve got nothing to lose,” Dixie Chicks said in a statement. “We will strut through this time together.”
The band started to craft the comeback album in 2018 and revealed album titled last September. The album features some songs from inspired of the band member Martie Maguire divorce.
She said, "When I started getting a divorce, I had a lot to say, so that kind of sparked me being ready [to make new music]. Songwriting is really hard for me, and I think, for many years, I didn't want to analyze my life or my relationship. I was just in it and dedicated and devoted...I just was not ready to open up like that."
The album will be released this summer.- source : Rolling Stone
