Trent Harmon Premieres New Song “You Got 'Em All”
- Former American Idol winner Trent Harmon has released a new song “You Got 'Em All”. The song is the first taste from his upcoming debut album. It was written by Trent Harmon, Justin Ebach and Jordan Minton.
Trent Harmon performed the song live for the first time at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville last October.
The song is written about Trent Harmon and his girlfriend Kathleen Couch. Three co-writers finished the song in about 45 minutes.
Songwriter Justin Ebach said about the song, “We had some of the melody stuff and those kind of things, then we went into Trent’s story, and he was like, ‘This is me, this is how I feel right now. Then it became Trent’s song. We really just plugged his story in. What needs to be focused on is the vocal and the lyric. When you capture that right, honestly, you don’t need to add a lot of elements.”
Jordan Minton added, “We would stop writing for five minutes and just kind of talk and hang out. When you’re writing a song that’s that heavy, you’ve just got to breathe for a few minutes.”
- Trent Harmon told Billboard about the story with his girlfriend;
“I didn’t want her to go have a great time and me be here blue and miserable. But she had a great time, enough that she’s going back. She’s going to do her thing, and I’m going to tour and do music. We don’t really want to be with anybody else, but we’re not going to hold each other back, either. It’s a good place, just uncharted territory.”
