First Trailer for “The Aftermath” starring Keira Knightley
Fox Searchlight has unveiled a first trailer for British-German-American film “The Aftermath”.
The film is based on a novel of the same name by Rhidian Brook, who published it in 2013.
The film was directed by James Kent, starring Keira Knightley, Alexander Skarsgård, Jason Clarke, and Alexander Scheer. Produced by Ridley Scott.
The story is set in postwar Hamburg in Germany in 1946, thousands remain displaced in what is the British Occupied Zone.
Colonel Lewis Morgan (Jason Clarke) has worked to rebuild the devastated city and the de-Nazification of its defeated people.
He requisitioned a fine house on the banks of the Elbe, where he he decided to live with his wife Rachael Morgan (Keira Knightley), who was still deep in grief for the loss of her eldest son, who killed by a bomb.
But they will share the house with its previous owners, and former German charact Herr Lubert(Alexander Skarsgård) and his traumatized daughter. Herr Lubert lost his wife in a raid and is in prolonged mourning.
In this charged atmosphere, enmity and grief give way to passion and betrayal.
Principal photography began in January 2017, in Prague, Czech Republic. The film is set to be released on April 26, 2019.- source : Firstshowing
