SKAAR Releases Coverer of Coldplay's “The Scientist”
- Norwegian singer-songwriter SKAAR released a cover of British rock band Coldplay's “The Scientist” on November 4, 2020.
The original version of the song was released by Coldplay from their second album “A Rush of Blood to the Head” in 2002.
At that time, Chris Martin told on Rolling Stone, “On the second album I was thinking there was something missing. I was in this really dark room in Liverpool, and there was a piano so old and out of tune. I really wanted to try and work out the George Harrison song “Isn't It A Pity,“ but I couldn't. Then this song came out at once. I said, 'Can you turn on the recorder?' The first time I sung it is what's out there.”
Her take on “The Scientist” coincides with the 18th anniversary of the release of the original song.
SKAAR said, “I've been thinking about covering Coldplay for a long time as they are one of my favourite bands, because they influenced me so much growing up and my music. I remember listening to 'The Scientist' every time I was sad or heartbroken, and it was one of the most important songs that inspired me to make my own music”
Back in September, she released her long-awaited debut EP “The Other Side of Waiting”.
