Meghan Trainor Covers Friends Theme Song “I'll Be There for You”
On September 22nd, it marked the 25th anniversary of Friends. American singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor celebrated the TV program and released a cover of the show’s theme song “I’ll Be There For You.”
“I can’t believe they even thought of me to sing this cover. It was a dream come true,” Meghan Trainor said. “I actually cut the vocals in my backyard in my studio, with my little brother, my older brother, my husband and my best friend. And we were just all laughing and in disbelief.”
The original version was released by The Rembrandts in 1995 from their third studio album “LP”. It was written by Marta Kaufmann and David Crane, as well as composer Michael Skloff and songwriter Ailee Willis.
The song was used as the theme song of Friends between September 1994 and in May 2004.- source : Rolling Stone
