  • James Bay & Lewis Capaldi Perform “Let It Go” and “Someone You Loved” at the London Palladium

  • British singer-songwriter James Bay and Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi performed “Let It Go” and “Someone You Loved” live at The London Palladium on 22nd May, 2019. The video was directed by Jon Stone.

“Let It Go” was released by James Bay from his debut studio album “Chaos and the Calm” as his debut single in 2014.
James Bay said of the song, "I wrote [Let It Go] about something that I think happens maybe even more to people, which is, you know, you can get to a point, I got to the point in a relationship where in my head I was kind of screaming, and I was tired of the brick wall that we kept hitting. We kept getting so frustrated , and something just wasn’t going right. And I cared about that person so much that I didn’t necessarily want to break up. And we didn’t. But I wanted to say ‘If it takes breaking up or not, can we just let everything go? Can we please just stop with whatever it is that keeps going wrong? Can we start again?’ But starting again starts with just being free of the frustrations and the problems, and that’s what ‘Let It Go’ was about. Kind of calling a timeout on whatever was going wrong."
  • “Someone You Loved” was released by Lewis Capaldi from his second EP “Breach” in 2018. The song reached No. 1 on the UK Singles chart.
Lewis Capaldi took six months to write the song. He said, "A lot of people say that 'the best songs fall into your lap' and that they're the easiest ones to write and take the shortest amount of time: I wholeheartedly disagree with that. I think my best songs come from me sitting at a piano, bashing my head against a brick wall for hours and hours on end to get one good melody."
