  • Quiet Houses Releases New Song “What My Heart Is For”

  • Manchester based indie-folk duo Quiet Houses, consisting of Hannah Elliott (vocals/violin/keyboards) and Jamie Stewart (guitar/vocals), released a new song “What My Heart Is For” on January 5, 2024.

The song is their first music since the EP “Since July”, which was released in May 2023.
It was written by Hannah Elliott and Jamie Stewart. Produced by Jake Cartwright.
The duo said of the song, “'What My Heart is For' is a song about the ridiculousness of having dreams and pursuing them. It's about wanting something desperately even when you're not sure what it is you want or why you want it.”
They added, “This is a song about feeling uncertain and trying to figure out what's important to you and it feels very special that it is out in the world.”
  • Hannah Elliott explained about the song, “This song was written in early April when we were living in Edinburgh just after we got back from tour and were feeling super inspired by life and music! I remember waking up at 7 in the morning to find Jamie already up writing a riff over this sick drum loop our producer and friend Jake had made. being the control freak I am I had to get involved and I remember singing parts of the (now) riff from my bed with my eyes still closed half asleep. This song has a really, really special place in our hearts and is more intentional than anything we have released so far. It is exactly how we feel about who we are now, having big dreams and big hearts and diving head first into everything. It also has our favourite bridge we've written ever maybe.”
The duo will appear on King Tut's New Year's Revolution in Glasgow on January 25, 2024.
