The Killers Releases New Song “We Did It In The Name Of Love”
American rock band The Killers surprise-released a new song “We Did It In The Name Of Love” on December 26, 2023.
The song is currently only available via their social media platforms and is un-titled.
The band shared “Santa's got a brand new song in his bag. Merry Christmas!”
However, back in August, the band's frontman Brandon Flowers told The Current in an interview about the song title.
Brandon Flowers said, “And so it was a nice little surprise. It's called 'We Did it in the Name of Love.'”
The band recorded the song at a little-used studio in the hills of Santa Cruz, California.
The band drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. continued, “I needed to be close to home at the time; my wife was going to give birth any minute, so we just decided to rent this studio that hadn't been touched since 1977. There was not a computer in the studio, so we had to buy a computer and we basically hooked it up to his system. And we just started, you know, carving some songs.”- The home studio is run by a guy named Ken and his wife Barbie, the band had to share the space with the couple.
Brandon Flowers added, “It was their house. So they went to stay in a trailer outside. The green room was their living room. And the...Yeah, their bathroom was our bathroom. And so the guy wanted, if you wanted to watch the 49ers, he was just in there watching the 49ers; his wife was in the trailer outside. And I was like, 'What are we doing?' We had some good moments. So anyway, this song came out of it. It's got a little bit of a spirit of Sisters of Mercy.” - source : Instagram
