  • Middle Part Releases New Song “Nowhere”

  • New York City-based singer-songwriter Middle Part released a new song “Nowhere” on December 6, 2023.

The song is the second single off of his upcoming debut album “Disruptor”, which is expected to be released in 2024.
The track was written by Andy Selkōw and dba James. Produced by Michael Andrews, Brian Zaremba, and Andy Selkōw.
Middle Part said of the song, “This song is a refrain from all the anger that populates a lot of the record. It's a confession of wanting to choose self-acceptance over continuously worrying about what others may think. Appreciating the present moment rather than placing oneself at the center of the universe is the key theme.”
He continued, “The chorus paints a picture of depression and mental instability crying out, 'Fall in love to heal my shame/break apart to feel something'. Again the idea of having to push for personal advancement while feeling like one has maintain an air of 'calm' and 'collected'. It is also the most self-reflective song on the record spawning from a moment of ego death fueled by psychedelic mushrooms.”
  • Middle Part shared about the song on social media, “I was outside of myself while writing this song in Maine, wishing I could be somebody other than me. Imposter syndrome hit hard that day, and I felt defeated and aimless where I was. I'm grateful that in that moment, I just stared at the ceiling for hours, having whatever type of existential crisis that was because at 3 am, the universe gave me a gift—allowing me to put exactly where I was into these lyrics when I couldn't articulate that feeling in any capacity. The bag in the photo represents the attachments to adulthood that slowly kill you and the copy machine represents a job or a relationship that you feel tethered to. I love this song, I love the meaning, I love the concept of this album and I hope it heals you the way it healed me.”

  • Much of the new album was written and recorded between New York and a friend's cabin in Maine near Sebago Lake.
On the album, Middle Part worked with producer Brian Zaremba, producer Michael Andrews, Frank Corr of The Drums and Morning Silk as well as James McDermott of dba James & Bayfaction.
