Duran Duran Releases New Song “BLACK MOONLIGHT” featuring Nile Rodgers
British rock band Duran Duran, consisting of Nick Rhodes (keyboards), Simon Le Bon (vocals), John Taylor (bass) and Roger Taylor (drums), teamed up with American guitarist Nile Rodgers again to release a new song “BLACK MOONLIGHT” on September 21, 2023.
In the past, Nile Rodgers produced Duran Duran's 1984 singles “The Reflex”, “The Wild Boys”, 1986 album “Notorious”, 2004 album A“stronaut”, and 2015 single “Pressure Off”.
Also, this time, the band former member Andy Taylor joined in the song on guitar.
The song is the second single off of their upcoming sixteenth studio album “DANSE MACABRE”, which is set to be released on October 27, 2023 via BMG and Tape Modern.
It was written by Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, Roger Taylor, and Nile Rodgers. Produced by Nile Rodgers and Joshua Blair.
- “Nile Rogers is a force of nature. When we get into a room, we start playing, and magic happens,” Duran Duran keyboardist Nick Rhodes said in a statement. “Nile always says that CHIC is his first band, and Duran Duran is his second. Thematically, I personally prefer the moon to the sun. Simon took the idea and ran with it.”
Simon Le Bon added, “'Black Moonlight' is this classic Duran Duran-Nile Rodgers collaboration. When Nile started playing his guitar in the studio, he really inspired everyone with his riff, and the song just kind of wrote itself.”
