Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ The Word Alive Releases New Song “Nocturnal Future”
American metalcore band The Word Alive, consisting of Tyler Smith (vocals) and Zack Hansen (guitar), announced that they left Fearless Records and signed to Thriller Records on November 17, 2022.
After the announcement, the band released a new song “Nocturnal Future” along with a music video.
The song will appeare on their upcoming album.
The track was written by Telle Smith, and Hiram Hernandez who also produced it.
The accompanying video was directed by Jake Johnston.
Tyler Smith said of the song, “'Nocturnal Future' is meant to be unexpected, and from the moment it starts I think you feel a new energy in the music we haven’t captured before. I wanted to encapsulate all of the things our fans have loved into one song, intricate guitars, flashy yet tasteful drums, meaningful lyrics and melodies you’ll want to sing along too. Lyrically, it’s a call to each of us to try to do more in a world seemingly hell bent on destroying itself. By the end of the song we want you to have pictured yourself at our show losing your mind, hopefully we’ll see you soon!”- Tyler Smith shared on social media, “'Nocturnal Future' was destined to be the first song you hear. You see, it actually started as a dream I had in February earlier this year.
Nearly every single day from mid 2020 I had been writing and rewriting songs, so much time at home and at studios bringing this vision to life was pouring into my dreams as well. I found myself waking up and writing down lyrics or making voice notes of guitar parts so I wouldn’t forget them.
And that is how “Nocturnal Future” began. I won’t spoil too much about the song or music video to come, but I think it’s an important song in The Word Alive’s discography both lyrically and musically.
This album is the MOST important album to date for us, there is no question about that. But I feel we rose to the challenge and I hope you’ll embrace this new era, we’ll need your support more than ever.” -
