  • FLOHIO Premieres New Song “SPF” on BBC Radio 1

  • London-based hip-hop singer-songwriter Funmi Ohiosumah, aka FLOHIO premiered a new song “SPF” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.

The song is the second single off of her upcoming album “Out of Heart”, which is set to be released on October 7, 2022.
It was written by OLUWAFUNMILAYO ADUNI OHIOSUMAH and Theodore Clarke. Produced by Speech.
FLOHIO told Clara Amfo about the song, “Actually it stands for stop playing with fire playing, just that let me cool off and it's just needed someone to kind of be that way you can just like have somebody a companion, but at the same time, you don't want to be too like, you don't want to be that person that is just constantly just dragging people down or down or whatever like if you want to go through your stuff like try and go through it. Of course I'm not saying don't speak to people about your problems, but there's times where you just have to you have to sit down figure yourself figure out wait, where you're going where you're trying to do what's going on in your head, so much was going on in my head like, we just need to cool off sit down. And this is what that one is like, be calm. Don't get too angry. Don't let people push you over the edge too quick. I stopped playing with my fire like keep me cool. And like it's not all aggie and like he's gotta look up sometimes and look for the sunshine. If he's not there, keep going don't just like stay and be a Debbie Downer kind of thing. So this is what that song is mine.”
  • She continued, “But let me not say too much about me, because also the producer, my collaborator on the day, we were creating it. He also was just like, whenever we start a session, it's like how are you feeling today? What's the mood? We find? You know, sound sonics that match how we're feeling unlike this is where we were that time. And this is what came out of that and it was a down day as it was during COVID. But I'm not gonna rap about masks and stuff.”
