American R&B singer-songwriter H.E.R. released a cover of Sly and the Family Stone's “Dance To The Music” from American computer-animated film “Minions: The Rise of Gru” soundtrack on June 24, 2022.
She worked with American singer-songwriter Jack Antonoff, who produced the track and played multiple instrumentals, on the track.
The original version of the song appeared on American funk-soul band Sly and the Family Stone's second studio album of the same name.
The song was released in 1967 and reached reach the Billboard Pop Singles Top 10.
In addition to H.E.R., the soundtrack features Diana Ross, Brittany Howard, St. Vincent, BROCKHAMPTON, Kali Uchis, Caroline Polachek, Thundercat, Phoebe Bridgers, Bleachers, Weyes Blood, Gary Clark Jr., Tierra Whack, Verdine White, Jackson Wan, G.E.M., and RZA.
It is set to be released on July 1, 2022.
“Minions: The Rise of Gru” is a sequel to the spin-off the 2015 film “Minions”.
