- Ariana Grande Premieres New Song “The Light Is Coming” featuring Nicki Minaj
- Last week, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj released “Bed” from Nicki Minaj's upcoming fourth album "Queen". Followed by, both artists unveiled a new song “The Light Is Coming” on June 20th.
The song will appear on her upcoming fourth studio album "Sweetener", which is set to be released on August 17, 2018.
The track was written by Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande and Pharrell Williams, who produced it as well.
According to an interview with The Fader, Ariana Grande auditioned eight rappers for the song. She said, “I don't mean to sound like a terrible person, but I wasn't in love with any of it." Then she sent the song to Nicki Minaj and asked if she would be interested in it. Nicki Minaj answered “Ho-lee-shit-I-love-this”.
Ariana Grande said, "I went in my slippers and pajamas to the studio and she killed it. That's what Nicki Minaj does, she elevates a record. If you're going to have a rapper on a song, they need to really really really be there for a reason, and she does that every single time.”
Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj will premiere the music video for “Bed” shortly. Nicki Minaj teased the video on YouTube yesterday.
