British singer-songwriter Grace Davies has released a new song “roots” from her upcoming sophomore EP “i wonder if you wonder”.
She first performed at X Factor UK in 2017. Also, she recorded a live performance of the song in June 2020.
But she hasn't released a studio version to date. On October 8, 2021, finally she released the song officially for the first time in four years.
It was written by Grace Davies. Produced by Grace Davies, Graeme Pleeth and Marcus Andersson.
Grace Davies shared on social media, “'roots' started off a very important chapter in my career 4 years ago and it's finally, FINALLY out now 😭💞 this song is about me being in love with music and wanting to do this forever - and, even though the ride has been anything but easy, i am HERE… officially releasing this song and about to release my second EP… i don't think there's enough words to describe this feeling 💙”
Also, the live video for the song exclusively premiered on Patreon.
She said, “we recorded this live performance of 'roots' back in june 2020 and it feels like a lifetime ago 🥺 tbh i wasn't planning on putting this video out there. a lot of things have changed, we've all been on our own personal journeys over the past year or so, but as a little well done for making it through i wanted to share this performance exclusively over on Patreon 💙”
