British singer-songwriter Lola Young premiered a new song “FAKE” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is her first single since her latest EP “After Midnight”, which was released in August.
It was written by Lola Young, Conor Dickinson and Will Brown. Produced by Paul Epworth.
Lola Young told Clara Amfo, “Hey Clara Amfo, thank you so much for being the first person to play fake this song means so much to me when I first made our book, Tarantino vibes. I hope other has this awesome power.”
She said of the song, “'FAKE' is a song about remembering the core of who you are.There is so much constantly being sold to us, so much that is trying to tell us who to be, whether it's an advert or person on the street. How would we be if we ignored it all? When writing this song I was trying to drown out all the noise, it's about remembering that everything other than what you personally believe isn't the truth and to listen to your instinct about what's fake. I hope whoever hears this relates and feels a sense of empowerment towards anything or anyone that has made them feel inadequate in their life.”- Also, she will appear on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform the song on September 20th.
Lola Young shared on social media, “My brand new song FAKE is out on Monday (7pm BST) and I am playing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert ... HOW MAD IS THAT? Monday 20th, I am ready for you”
Recently, she supported Dermot Kennedy's tour in the UK. Also, she embarks on the UK and European Tour in November. The tour kicks off at The Sound House in Dublin on November 8, 2021.
She shared, “Ok so im going on my first ever UK and European tour this november. Happy is an understatement!! I cant wait to see so many more of your faces in person, finally.”
