Amanda Frances and A-SHO Team Up for New Song “say that”
- Toronto-based singer-songwriters Amanda Frances and A-SHO teamed up to release a new song “say that” on July 9, 2021.
This marks the first collaboration between Amanda Frances and A-SHO.
The song will appear on Amanda Frances' upcoming debut EP, which is expected to be released later this year.
The track combines '80s inspired synths with guitars and astrologically infused lyrics to create a new sound.
“Like the true millennials we are, A-SHO and I loved the idea of writing a song that touched on being astrologically compatible. Our new track, "say that," is the true story of a hopeless romantic Aquarius (A-SHO) chasing a fiery Aries (Amanda Frances),” Amanda Frances said of the song. “'say that' encapsulates summer romance and nostalgia. 80's inspired synths and dreamy guitars blend together to create the perfect soundtrack for sitting on the roof during golden hour or driving with your hand floating out the window.”
- She continued, “It's a modern day love song about having feelings for someone mixed with just enough emotional baggage to keep you from diving right in. "say that" walks you through that moment of falling and hesitating at the same time, where you're flirting with vulnerability.”
She added, “Not your fault you get emotional when your moon's in fucking Scorpio, This lyric is our tongue-in-cheek way of showing A-SHO's hopeless romantic side that's so accepting of everything about me. It references this kind of fated idea where the parts of you and the other person that fit together are maybe a little bigger than we know.”
