American singer-songwriter jxdn released a new song “Better Off Dead” from his upcoming debut album ”Tell Me About Tomorrow”.
The track was written by blackbear, Joe Kirkland, Lauv, Andrew Goldstein, Travis Barker and jxdn. Produced by blackbear, Andrew Goldstein and Travis Barker.
The accompanying music video was directed by Max Moore, featuring Travis Barker of Blink-182.
jxdn explained of the video in an interview with Zach Sang Show, “We got that it cloud definitely be taken different ways, because that's why we put the like words in like arrows. For the people watching and for you it's me describing the lines, 'it's cloudy with a chance of depression, it's cloudy with a chance of anxiety', when you are suffering from anxiety and depression you're making scenarios in your head. So I'm like I should pull up to her house, because I think like she's with another guy and I'm like what's up typical I'm gonna throw a rock like hit the window boink type she doesn't it. So I go in the back and I'm like what better way to get this girl's attention ,and then play with Travis in a pool. Of course, I'm gonna rock out, we rock out in the pool and then she notices, but she's talking to the guy in her room, and when the it drops down and it's like and instrumental, and we on there it's like I go from the pool, and I go knock on her door waiting for her answer and the door opens and it's me. It shows that it's me and I'm like every one's like what it's me and premise is like I was tripping the whole time I'm like my own word enemy and that I feel like it's super relatable that's why I really appreciated the video.”
