  • Sabrina Claudio Releases New Christmas Album “Christmas Blues” featuring The Weeknd & Alicia Keys

  • American singer-songwriter Sabrina Claudio released a new Christmas Album “Christmas Blues” on November 27, 2020.

This marks her first Christmas album. The album contains 8-track, including five original songs, as well as three cover songs.
The album features guest appearances from Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd and American singer-songwriter Alicia Keys. Produced by Adam Messinger, Kaveh Rastegar, Nasri Atweh and Sad Money.
Sabrina Claudio shared on social media, “Nasria Atweh, Kaveh Rastegar, & i created this Christmas album in the beginning of this summer with the intention of bringing a sense of peace, nostalgia, and/or happiness even if the feeling only lasted for the length of a song. We really had no idea where we'd end up...we were just creating because it felt good.”
She continued, “To Alicia Keys & The Weeknd, thank you for believing in this intention ♥️ my god, never could i have imagined that two of the most influential figures in my life & journey as an artist would be accompanying me on an album i did purely out of the desire to shine a tiny light through an incredibly dark year. Teenage me would've rolled her eyes in disbelief if someone told her this was going to be her reality in a few years. Adult me is still in disbelief except only thing rolling out of my eyes are a loooot of happy tears lol.
A huge thank you to everyone who played such important roles in this album 🎄 my team and the creatives that surround me are so passionate about what we do. I'm truly blessed ✨”
  • Initially, she had no plan recording the Christmas Album until creating the single “Christmas Blues”.
She told V Magazine about the album, “The process was just going with the flow,” she said. “Initially, it was just supposed to be one song. It was just fun—I've never experienced anything having to do with holiday writing, and it was just so fun to do. And after 'Christmas Blues,' we just wanted to get back in and see if we could beat [it], but we ended up loving everything that we wrote and we came up with a whole album, and then everything else just kind of followed the album, in terms of the videos and pictures and features.”
“It just happened the way it was supposed to,” she added. “There was no pressure behind it, no force, no nothing. And so I think that's what makes it so special and it feels so good.”
