Lauren Lakis Releases New Song “We'll Be Fine”
- Los Angeles-based alt-rock singer-songwriter Lauren Lakis has unveiled a new song “We'll Be Fine”.
The track is her first single off of her upcoming sophomore album “Daughter Language”.
Lauren Lakis shared on social media, “As we’ve gone through this pandemic, it’s become a sort of love song to humanity, a ballad of hope. We’ve been given a unique opportunity to pause and go inward, where shadow exists alongside light. There is fear and grief and uncertainty, but ultimately I have faith that we will be fine, maybe better than “fine” if we choose.”
The new album “Daughter Language” is expected to be released this year and is her first LP in two years. Produced by Billy Burke.
She said of the album, “‘Daughter Language’ is defined as a language descended from a mother language; this album explores how I show up as the daughter of my mother, the daughter of my father, a daughter of God, and a daughter of human tradition that precedes me. I’ve spent many years attempting to uncover the subconscious programming that guides my thoughts + behavior...how much of our personality do we get to choose and how much of it is the culmination of childhood figureheads?”
