Sam Smith Announces New Album “To Die For”, Releases Album Title Tune
English singer-songwriter Sam Smith announced that his third studio album called “To Die For” will be released on May 1st.
The album is his first LP in three years.
On February 14t, he unveiled the album title track alongside a music video directed by Grant Singer. It was written by Tor Erik Hermansen, Mikkel Storleer Eriksen, Jimmy Napes and Sam Smith.
Sam Smith said of the song in a press release, “Releasing this song is going to be a wild one—I feel like it’s from one of the deepest parts of me. I wrote this with Jimmy Napes and Stargate in L.A. during a time of self-discovery and heartbreak. This is for all the lonely hearts out there on another Valentine’s Day xx.”
Also, he shared on social media, “I’ve really set myself free the last two years whilst writing this”, a reference, perhaps, to their coming out as non-binary. This song, as with all of Sam’s work, is deeply personal.”- POIK1H3L86k
