  • Dispatch Premieres New Song “Letter to Lady J” from New Album “Location 13”

  • Boston-based indie band Dispatch will release their new album "Location 13" this fall, following previous album "America, Location 12" the release Last June.

    Both albums of "Location 13" and "America, Location 12" recorded at John Baccigaluppi’s famed Panoramic House.
    The band plans to release new songs every couple of weeks from the new album.
    On August 17th, a new song "Letter to Lady J" arrived.
    The song tackles about the increase of police-involved shootings of unarmed individuals.

    The band member Brad "Braddigan" Corrigan said of the song;
    "The impetus of the song started when Eric Garner was killed in Staten Island [by New York police officers]. It was basically another innocent black man killed by the overuse of violence by authority and a subsequent lack of accountability that followed. The song is like writing a letter to Lady Justice asking where are you? We need you."

    To date, 7 tracks, including “Letter to Lady J”, are released from the album. All the new songs are available for free on SoundCloud.
    Corrigan said, "We're all in favor of streaming."
  • Dispatch is composed of Brad Corrigan (vocals, drums, guitar, percussion, and harmonica), Pete Francis Heimbold (vocals, bass, and guitar), and Chad Urmston (vocals, guitar, bass, and percussion).
    The band was originally active from 1996 until 2002. The group announced a hiatus in 2002.
    The hiatus ended in early 2011, the band released the fifth studio album "Circles Around the Sun" in 2012.
    Last year, the band released their first studio album "America, Location 12" in 5 years.
    Also, as the group has done since forming in 1996, it is using their shows to raise awareness on a host of rarely-discussed issues, including poverty in indigenous communities and calling out the persistence of sexual harassment and assault at shows.
    But founding member Pete Francis announced that he would not be to tour with the group, because of his lengthy battle with depression.
