Gia Ford Announces Debut Album “Transparent Things”, Shares New Song “Paint Me Like A Woman”
London-based alt-pop singer-songwriter Gia Ford has announced her debut album “Transparent Things” will be released on September 13, 2024 via Chrysalis Records.
The album, which has a theme of alienation, comprises a 11-track, and she recorded with producer Tony Berg Sound City Studios in Los Angeles.
“Most of the characters in these songs are outcasts,” Gia Ford said of the album. “All with unique ways of feeling on the periphery, somehow. Thematically it has a mythical quality, stemming from the repeated references to creatures, ghosts and undefined spirits. It's a world of its own, where the characters have more in common than I initially thought was possible.”- From the album, she unveiled a new song “Paint Me Like A Woman” on June 12, 2024.
The song is the fifth single off of the album and is accompanied by the Melanie Lehmann-directed music video.
The track was written by Holly Lapsley Fletcher, Liam Coverdale Howe, and Molly Mccormick. Produced by Tony Berg.
The song is drawn from the perspective of an abused woman.
Gia Ford said of the song, “It is a look inside her mind as she feels herself drifting away from who she really is; allowing her rage to weave itself into the fabric of her being. It's a comment on how we hurt each other, how we change each other, and a question: who gets punished for this terrible nature we have all, to varying degrees, embodied?” -
