Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Vicki Lovelee Releases New Song “Click”
Chinese-Canadian alt-pop singer-songwriter Vicki Lovelee has released the first singel of 2024 called “Click”.
The song is the follow-up to the release of “Hunter” last October.
The track was written by Victoria Lee, and Jonathan Karkar who also produced it.
Vicki Lovelee said of the song, “There's always cliques that everyone wants to be a part of. And being excluded made me feel like such an outsider. I wrote "Click" because I started feeling like an outsider in the music industry. Sometimes I feel like no matter what I do or how hard I try, nothing ever clicks. Even though I'm not in school anymore, there are still social groups or cliques everywhere. And the music industry is no exception.”
She continued, “I started overthinking a lot and wondered if people hated me or if it was all just in my head. I wanted to turn this feeling of isolation into a fun song you can bop your head to.”- She added, “I wanted to release 'Click' as a single to introduce a new theme to my fans and show that I'm a versatile songwriter, compared to my last few songs which were about building confidence and dating. The desire to fit in a clique is something I've had a hard time dealing with, so creating this song was very therapeutic for me.”
