Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Charm of Finches Announces New Album “Marlinchen in the Snow”, Shares New Song “Clean Cut”
Australian indie pop sister duo Charm of Finches, consisting of Mabel Windred-Wornes and Ivy Windred-Wornes, has announced that their fourth studio album “Marlinchen in the Snow” will be released on April 19, 2024 via SPUNK! Records.
The duo recorded the album for a month in rural Nova Scotia in February 2023 with Canadian producer Daniel Ledwell.
The album is their first body of work in three years since the 2021 album “Wonderful Oblivion”.
From the album the duo unveiled the second single called “Clean Cut” on February 2, 2024.
The accompanying music video was directed by Charm of Finches.
The track features stunning dark-hued harmonies over spellbinding strings and driving folk pop rhythms.
The duo said of the song, “Going away on tour served as the catalyst for a break-up and Clean Cut is some self-advice. We stayed with a lovely lady in Oslo, Norway who let us play her gorgeous grand piano and the first part of Clean Cut was penned. We created a music video for this song with the help of lots of friends who were willing to dress up as dolls and clowns. This was a huge 22 hour shoot in a warehouse in Melbourne creating the world of a mysterious haunted doll museum.”- Photo by Jeff Andersen Jnr.
