  • Bring Me The Horizon Releases New Song “DArkSide”

  • British rock band Bring Me The Horizon, consisting of Oliver Sykes (vocals), Matt Kean (bass), Lee Malia (guitar), Matt Nicholls (drums) and Jordan Fish (keyboards), released a new song “DArkSide” on October 13, 2023.

The song is the first release after pushing back the release of their highly-anticipated album “POST HUMAN: NeX GEn”.
Originally, the new album was supposed to be released on September 15, 2023. But back in August, the band announced to push back the release date of the album.
At that time, the band frontman Oliver Sykes said, “unforeseen circumstances rendered us unable to complete the record to the standard we’d be happy with. I was hoping despite the setbacks we could pull it off in time for you guys but there’s still so many little details I want to be perfect and until it’s nailed I’m just not willing to give it to you guys. Sorry & thanks for understanding.”
The new track was written by Andrew Goldstein, Oliver Sykes, Jordan Fish, Lee Malia, and Zakk Cervini. Produced by Daisuke and Zakk Cervini.
The track pays homage to Papa Roach's classic “Last Resort” with the lyric “Don’t give a fuck if my heart stops beating”.
  • The new album is second part of “Post Human” series of four projects. The first part “POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR” was released in 2020.
Back in June, Oliver Sykes told NME about the new album, “Linkin Park were the first band that I got into, but when I found Glassjaw is when I became obsessed with music and knew I wanted to be a singer, so the album pays homage to that.”
He continued, “I wouldn’t say it’s a hyper-pop album, but I’ve definitely been inspired by that world. I admire how obnoxious, trashy and in your face that music feels, which is what I was drawn to when I got into emo, hardcore and screamo.”
He added, “DIt’s not that we’ve lost that in our music, but as you become a bigger band, things do get more polished. I want to go the opposite way. Let’s be unhinged, let’s stop trying to make all the edges smooth.”
