  • The Struts Releases New Song “Rockstar”

  • Back in August, British rock band The Struts, consisting of Luke Spiller (vocals), Adam Slack (guitar), Jed Elliott (bass), and Gethin Davies (drums), announced their fourth studio album “Pretty Vicious” would be released on November 3, 2023 via Big Machine.

The album comprises 11-track, co-produced by The Struts alongside Julian Raymond. It was executive produced by Big Machine Label Group CEO Scott Borchetta.
It is their first album in three years since the 2020 album “Strange Days”.
The band frontman Luke Spiller said of the album, “This record showcases each individual member’s strengths. It’s some of my favourite music, hands down, we’ve ever conjured up. It’s the record everyone’s been waiting for.”
From the album, the band released a new song “Rockstar” on September 8, 2023.
The song is the follow-up to “Too Good At Raising Hell”.
The track was written by Luke Spiller, Adam Slack, Nigel Butler, and Ray Hedges. Produced by Julian Raymond, Scott Borchetta, and The Struts.
  • Luke Spiller said of the song, “I wanted to write this story where a guy meets a girl who has rockstar energy and he just wants her. The line about original sin is a tip of the hat to composer and lyricist Jim Steinman, who wrote Pandora’s Box's Original Sin. There are so many great lines in there, like ‘kamikaze casanova crashing into your headlights.’ I love moments like that in an album when you don’t have to be super serious. Not everything has to be Imagine by John Lennon. We were just thinking, let's inject this record with some light-hearted fun. We recorded it in like two takes, and it’s one of the most energetic songs on the album.”
