Steve Aoki Announces New Album “Hiroquest: Double Helix”, Shares New Version of Akon's “Locked Up” with Trinix
American DJ Steve Aoki has announced his eighth studio album “Hiroquest: Double Helix” will be released on November 17, 2023.
The album is a sequel to the 2022 album “Hiroquest: Genesis”. Also, the new collection follows up the four-part Neon Future collection.
Steve Aoki said of the album, “Hiroquest is an entire world I crafted around an enigmatic character named Hiro. Part I was largely driven by my alt-music roots in hardcore punk bands. Now, the story continues on Double Helix, which embraces dance culture while intertwining the pulse of contemporary Latin music.”
From the album, he released a new version of Senegalese-American singer-songwriter Akon's “Locked Up” on August 18, 2023.
The original version of the song was released by Akon and Styles P in 2004.
This time, he teamed up with French DJ duo Trinix and Akon on the track.
The track was written by Akon, Loïs Serre, Max Styler, Steve Aoki and Josh Chergui. Produced by Steve Aoki, Max Styler and Trinix.
